Wedding Design & Coordination - White Tulips Ltd

We are all aware that planning a wedding can be a rewarding but daunting task for many couples. With so many different elements to bring together, the amount of time required to plan, the budget to manage and a hint of family politics it is no wonder many couples become stressed during the planning process. At White Tulips we believe it should be thoroughly enjoyable.

Many couples assume that wedding consultants are a lavish extravagance on top of the high costs already linked with weddings as they are most commonly associated with celebrities such as Posh and Becks and Jordan and Peter. However, for both time and quality considerations, brides-to-be are increasingly turning to wedding consultants for assistance in planning and orchestrating their important day.

A wedding consultant is an expert in wedding planning. The best wedding consultants will have a number of different services which can be tailored to your individual requirements as no two weddings are the same. Essentially though there are two main services; a full planning service and an On the Day service.

A full wedding service will involve a consultant assisting you every step of the way in creating a unique wedding day for you.
They can provide you with a number of design ideas, locate that all important venue which provides the backdrop to your day and source all the various suppliers from stationers and photographers to florists and entertainment.
They have specialised knowledge of suppliers and therefore know which ones will suit your personal requirements best.
They will handle all the research and scheduling saving you endless time and worry.

An essential part of this service is providing a comprehensive breakdown of your budget at the beginning of the process to show how your money is best apportioned among all the elements. They should pass on to you any discounts negotiated on your behalf.

At White Tulips we have planned many weddings over the years and are able to show our clients what works well from experience whilst maintaining that element of individuality to ensure the wow factor for each client.

The Wedding Consultant should then attend on the wedding day itself, which can also be booked as a service on its’ own.

A couple may have enjoyed the ups and downs of planning their own wedding but will consider employing a wedding professional for the day itself to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Once couples have invested so much time, effort and money in creating that perfect day it is well worth considering the use of your own Wedding Day Consultant

True, many venues today have an on site duty manager or coordinator, but their main focus in many cases will be staffing issues and the management of the catering team and so on.

Commencing a few weeks prior to the wedding day a good wedding consultant will check everything for you down to the minutest detail leaving you and your friends and family free to enjoy the build up and of course on the day itself, you will be safe in the knowledge that everything will be taken care of.

An independent wedding consultant will be on hand solely for you and will act with your best interests at heart on the day. They can run any last minute errands for you, ensure the best man and ushers have cufflinks (you will be surprised!!), decorate the venue given your specific instructions with attention to detail, coordinate all your suppliers, undertake any toastmaster duties and we will  generally remain until the last guest goes home to assist with any taxis and so on.

The wedding consultant can be counted on to make sure everything happens on schedule, handle any emergencies and, in general, be there for advice and support when you need them.

What to look for when researching Wedding Consultants?
There are a few wedding consultants entering the practice who believe that as they have planned their own wedding they are able to offer professional help to others, however it is a very different task.
Therefore when choosing a wedding consultant check whether they are a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants; a worldwide organisation and the longest running of its’ kind which has a strict membership policy and monitors its members regularly to ensure they abide by their terms of conduct.
A good wedding consultant will offer an initial consultation, generally complimentary, at which they will be able to discuss with you, any ideas and thoughts you may already have about your wedding and ascertain the level of help required.
The fee should then be fixed given the amount of work required rather than a blanket percentage of your budget.
It is also an ideal opportunity to look through their portfolio, view testimonials and most importantly meet them; as it is imperative that you feel you will be able to work with them and they offer the flexibility needed.
